Can’t recommend highly enough

Been going here about 18 months now and can’t recommend it highly enough. Staff are fantastic and there is a really good selection of lagers, ales and wine. Food is all home cooked and specials are changed weekly with a lot of thought going into each dish. Brilliant for parties and any special occasion. Nick and Bernie are absolute superstars. Best pub around

Work outing

We went for the evening as a group for work [pre booked] and had a fantastic buffet served on platters to our long table in the garden. The food came as a great selection of dishes, with plenty to eat, and all lovely, we ate very well !!! bar service was quick and efficient, in spite of another function inside. We were very well looked after.

Lunch in the Garden

Had a great lunch in the sunny and smart garden. The menu is good and well-priced- everything from sandwiches and jacket potatoes to full meals. Service was friendly and all staff welcoming. The pub has been spruced up in recent years and I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.

A Lovely Buzz

Went in for an evening meal on Friday night and was not disappointed. The food was really fresh and very well presented. There was a lovely buzz about the place and a really nice and friendly atmosphere, I am really looking forward to my next visit in the very near future.

Menu Reasonably Priced

Visited a couple of days ago after an absence of many years. What a transformation – really clean, tidy and pleasant. The Doom bar was excellent and the menu looks to be reasonably priced.

Good luck to Nick and Bernie on their new venture.

Cold Beers in the Garden

Well worth passing a few pubs for!

Pleased to concur with recent comments and to help with a deserved rating uplift.

What a change from previous incarnations!

Only a quick visit at the weekend after footie but the Doombar tasted pretty good and the decor is much, much, improved. And roll on those summer days with cold beers in the garden.

Beer Always in Excellent Condition

Nick and Bernie have refurbished this pub to a very high standard and offer everyone a very warm welcome. The beer is always in excellent condition and one of the two regular beers is local [Tring Brewery’s “Side Pocket for a Toad”]

The two bars are distinctly different, one fully carpeted the other with wooden flooring and carpet. The menu is varied excellent and inexpensive, there are sofas in one bar where families may drink together with their children, friendly dogs are welcome in both bars.

There are regular music nights with mainly individual performers. There is also a well tended garden area. This really is a pub for everyone and is a perfect hub for its local community.
